Is this company run by a Christian family?

This is the question I get asked most often. I attribute this to our own company philosophy and to the fact that classical education has been dominated by Christian companies seeking to promote religious beliefs and lifestyle. To answer the question, yes we are a Christian family (of the Catholic persuasion). However, we created CHE to provide quality resources to all those interested in the highest quality education regardless of their beliefs. Classical education is no more exclusively Christian than home schooling is exclusively for white American, middle to upper class, married couples. I am proud to say that our customers come from a variety of religious and social backgrounds. We offer a wide variety of resources to accommodate this diversity.

I did not receive a classical education myself. Can I teach a classical education to my children/students?

Yes!!! In fact this is the rule and not the exception. Since most of the population receives a public education, it stands to reason that most parents and teachers teaching a classical education were not educated in the classical style themselves. Books such as The Well-Trained Mind and companies like ours have gone a long way toward demystifying classical education and making it accessible to everyone. However, it is necessary that you educate yourself classically as you educate your children or students. Don't panic! It isn't as hard as it sounds and depending on the age of your children, you probably have years to accomplish it. You will find yourself learning as you teach. There are books available to guide you in your journey of re-education. Our favorites are The Well-Educated Mind, A Guide to the Classical Education You Never Had, and The New Lifetime Reading Plan. Both of these books provide a plan for reading and understanding great books including classic literature, science, and history. A classical education can be the best present you give your children and yourself!

Do you accept purchase orders?

Yes, we accept POs from schools and other educational groups. POs can be faxed to 352-690-7870 or mailed to Classical Home Education 3785 NE 18th Ave Ocala, FL 34479.

Do you offer discounts for large group orders?

Yes. Orders over $1000 and orders for 10 or more of any one item qualify for discounts beyond those indicated on the web site. Please contact us for a price quote.

How can I get one of those coupons mentioned on the order from?

We strive to offer competitive shipping rates! Operating an online store, we have learned a lot about this complicated aspect of our business. However, shipping rates are very difficult to calculate ahead of time since carriers charge by weight and destination and we have to charge by dollar total. Due to customer requests, CHE now offers several shipping options. We like the convenience of FedEx shipping because they offer package tracking and front door service. However, FedEx rates increase each year and they tack on fuel surcharges for remote addresses and a residential address fee. For large orders of books and CDs only, we recommend you take advantage of the USPS Media Mail option. This is by far the cheapest choice. However, there is no way to track these packages and you may have to wait up to 2 weeks for delivery. We also offer Priority Mail shipping options for our international customers.
